Christ "Pantocrator" 
of the Palatina Vault

n a mosaic mirabile in the apse of the Palatina Vault in Palermo is the image of the "Pantocrator".
This vision cristocenter of cosmos and the history salvifica is expressed imagery mosaicata on the apse of the Palatina Vault of Palermo around the year 1140, as no other theoretical stating could do it. Over the basin of the apse turned towards the East, it dominates Christ Pantocrator with the tunica (Kiton) red, color of the divinity, and the coat (Himation) blue color of humanity: he indeed is God who was covered human nature. He occupies exactly the three quarters of the apse, second the symbolic system of Pseudo - Dionigi, because he embraces all the universe. 
He carries the very long hair which goes down on the shoulders, and beard it, because he is old days, before all the things; but it is not old, because time does not have some capacity on him: he is the Eternal.

Around the chief the nimbo with registered the gilded cross carries, while at the sides of the nimbo they are the abbreviations of the name, Jesus Christ: it is the which incarnated Verb and the crucifix  which with the resurrection  obtained the Name which is above each other name. The effect was to be even more suggestive when under Christ one opened a large window whose light morning flooded all liturgical space. Christ recapitulates all the history salvific. Indeed of him diparte the account of the six day old work and history of the patriarchs, which on the basis of right-hand side traverses all the navata while returning to the apse. 
In top on Pantocrator it is the Annunciation, which represents the Mystery of the Incarnation: the angel on the right of Christ, and on the left Vergine with the blue tunica and the red coat, because it is human creature which was covered divinity. Annunciation it starts the account of the life of Christ along the walls of the central navata (while in the navatelle side ones she is recounted the history of the Church: on the left the cycle of Paolo and on line that of Pietro), which it converges once again towards center of the apse. Here, on Pantocrator and under the Annunciation, we find the throne empties etimasia. The term means "preparation literally" and in the language of the Liturgy and the iconologia it indicates the empty throne which waits come from Christ King and the universal judge, of which around they will gather all the people of the ground. The raffigurazione I base myself on Salmi 92.2: "I soda is your throne sin principle", and of 88.15: "Justice and right are the basic one of its throne", that the Greek Bible of LXX and Volgata translated etoimos respectively, paratus instead of "I weld", and instead of "basic", of etoimasia, praeparatio, of which "etimasia". 
The seat is covered with a coat regal, on him is posed the book with which the seven seal, it is known as that only the lion of the tribe of Giuda, i.e. the root of Davide can lu' open (cf Ap 5.1-5). The Christ is who carries to achievement projects of God and in which the history reveals any meant sound. Near the etimasia, on the right and on the left two archangels in clothing diaconali, which with the right hand holds the labaro and with the left invite to the worship. Written with the lower part at the edges of the arc absidale explains that one treats of Michele and Gabriele, ready to carry out the orders of the king: "+ STAT IN DEDEXTRA MICHAEL . GABRIELCUE SINISTRA. UT MAIESTATI SINT DESERVIRE PARATI + "On the lower ribbon, imediatamente under the etimasia, on money bottom another written recites: "+ SPONCIA LIGNEA CRUX. CLAVIC. CORONA. DANTE EX PARTE  METUM. COGUN AND FUNDERE FLETUM.. PECCATOR PLORA. CUM VIDERIS HEC ET  ADORA + ". These raffigurations it ends in front of the eyes the centrality of Christ principle and of all the things, Lord  and judge of the universe, for means of which and in sight of which all was done, key to include/understand the Writings, revealing and realizer of I project of God prepared of the Writings and celebrated in the Liturgy, meets to which the history is in way. Such vision, is icona celebration liturgica, memory and epiclesi which makes us pregoûter the celestial Liturgy, which is celebrated in the Gerusalemme saint, towards which we tend like pèperins, where Christ it assied with the right-hand side of God which Minister for the true sanctuary, and of where we await like Salvatore the Lord our Jesus Christ, until when it appears, our life and we will appear with him in glory (Sacrosanctum Concilium, 8). The worship with God does not tolerate hypocrisy: very from we let us receive to him and all with one offers to him in an act of absolute truth. Sunday 33a is that which more underlines waiting of return indéfectible from the Lord, is "Sunday of arrival of the Son of the uomo". The Liturgy which took to us for hand in the Arrival us carried out here: the Lord always comes and will turn, it is the "Veniente" and it will begin again to us with him, in the true fatherland that it is the centre of the Father, and there will be a new sky and a new ground, the things of initially passed. The eternelle life is the single mèta of our life, of it will rischiara and gives direction to all our lives, to suffer, gioire and to die: we will be always with the Lord dead and Rene for us, loved and celebrated, sought and awaited, Maestro, Seigneur Rene, King and Savour.
